This is absurd. Calling someone arrogant for not caring about dialup users is like calling programmers arrogant for not caring about people with 486s.

Stop living in the 80s and get a real Internet connection. If you can't get broadband because you live in the middle of nowhere, either move house or stop complaining.

Actually, in the UK, there is about 11 broadband users for every 9 users on dial-up. ;)

However, I do agree that file size doesn't really matter. If you want to download large files and are on dial-up, use a damn download manage.

I have a 1mb connection so Im fine, because british telecom had a monopoly untill the early 90's it didnt invest in digital technology. I live in a town so Im fine but I know people who live 10 miles from here who still cant get gas piped to their house. They will have to wait a long time for digital lines. British Telecom was owned and run by the government along with royal mail, british gas and the water companys. Basically you had no choice who you bought your utilities from a few years ago. Although over here we are forced by law to subscribe to BBC, it is diguised as a "TV license". It cost around £10 pounds per month and is enforced quite strongly.

Sorry about the big rant about british socialism.
