You should read again the topic, on the top of this page (edit : now previous heh) we've said that we're all in the project since one year and have replaced or reworked the majority of the maps because they wasn't good for a respectful tribute.
The only maps not yet reworked are from Erik Alm and they could be soon.

So your previous post haven't any valid argument. Plus you forget that we aren't in a commercial contract and can't bruise entire days on a mapping editor because we have a lot of real life stuff like studies or real hard work.
A lot of us work also on several others projects.
So I think it's really give a shit to say that we aren't working hard (and I think mainly about TV and Gusta who have raised to the masterpiece the current map pack).

Does the team have permission from Casali brothers for using 'Plutonia' word in own public project's name for easy popularization? At least it would be respectful to their work.

Yeah this is pretty dumb. Like making sure to ask id's permission every time you make a doom2 tribute level, or naming your wad anything doom related. Plutonia 2 is no different from any other fan-made project for any other megawad.

Ok guys so Dario have answered a few minutes ago :

Hi Charly,

The name Plutonia 2 should be legal, though I’m no lawyer. I’d love to take a look at what you guys have so far, so send me the website and I’ll take a look.

Dario

All is fine now entryway ? :)

Why not just add a sub title. Then surely, everybody would be happy?

For instance, something like "Plutonia 2, a fan sequel", except perhaps a bit, well alot, better sounding.

I think the problem is solved now. With a minimum of intelligence, everyone will understand that Plutonia 2 is a fan made sequal.

So, are you gonna pull this argument in the Dark Plutonia thread, too?

No, because Dark Plutonia is not such high-flying project like this. Dark Plutonia is simple 'fan-made project' by somebody. Plutonia2 is a project by guru of mapping and it must follow all of respect.

This is a fan-made project too, it just has a number at the end instead of an adjective at the beginning. Does it really matter?

Do you feel the difference between "Plutonia - a fan sequel" and "Plutonia II"?

Do you feel the difference between Death-Destiny and giant of mapping like Gusta, Alm, t.v., etc?

I feel.

Probably you are right. Where can I see his previous releases? What is his nickname in Archive?

There's reason why people name their source code modifications and ports ZDoom, DOSDoom, GLDoom, and so on, instead of Doom v1.11, Doom v2.1 and whatnot. In addition to using the same name and adding a sequel number, Plutonia 2 even has as story that follows where Plutonia's plot left off (at least some versions did; I'm not sure that the final story is done yet... maybe I should propose one since I didn't like any of the submitted ones too much). It's definitely not a bad idea to ask the original authors what they think or whether they have any objections. At the very least it shows respect or appreciation.

He's new. AFAIK so far he's released 3 1/2 maps in the "Untitled new year's CP" actually named DR2008V2. Because I couldn't get far enough (I couldn't get past my own level :P), I only played one of his maps. Which, for reportedly being completed within a day and a half, is quite solid, having detail and some form of primitive vanilla scripting, in that events trigger only after something else has been done.

Since I only played only one of his maps I'm still a bit skeptical - he maps fast, being prone to mistakes - but if the maps he'll release in DP (should he) are sound, then all's fine I guess.

THERE'S ONE MORE THING: IS THE PLUTONIA WORD SO ORIGINAL? Anyone can name his wad Plutonia. Go upload your Doom 2 map01 as PLUTONIA.ZIP and PLUTONIA.TXT.
