wait. so does this mean FOF and poly objects?
Now if only we could get a source port that supported slopes and FOFs.

By FOF, I assume you mean floor-over-floor, aka 3D floors? If so, I'm not sure what Heretic and Hexen's source being re-released under the GPL has to do with it, since neither game has 3D floors. If they did, ZDoom would almost certainly have implemented them long ago ;).

BTW there already *are* ports that feature both 3D floors and slopes, namely Vavoom and GZDoom. "Fake" 3D floors are also made easier in ZDoom, thanks to its portal system; with a little bit of trickery, you can even fake multiple floors at once :). (Eternity has a more advanced portal system, but that doesn't (yet?) support slopes.)

They don't count, they're pure polygonal renderers at this point.
