That reply comes out like people here owe you something. You're using the Doomworld service to get the word out about your project. That's something. Don't tell me you can't take a critical perspective here or there when that happens. Like I told Carnevil, just because everything is not to your benefit it does not mean you have nothing to gain from it. You could say it's also holier-than-thou to tell the regulars of a forum not to post what they think about some news item. If you don't choose to release the source, that's fine, your decision, but it's also fine to see the guys remind you periodically that they are still interested in seeing that, here. Our "annoyance" has probably helped you decide to release older versions, that you noted above, for example. If people just quieted themselves there would be an even lesser chance of any such release, ever.
These controversies can also attract attention to Skulltag (at least people are talking about it here in some way they find interesting) and produce some talk on open/close sourcing.
