Megadoomer: I used to care but because all the Doomers differ in what they enjoy I don't mind, but believe me I DO give a big shit about how nice alot of people's opinions have been and it means so much to me (Thank you Phobus you brilliant person!)

Yeah about Fragport I was a bit harsh on it, and I thought The Ultimate Doomer was a beginner in mapping. That's for sure why it is rejected. I blame myself for not playing all of its maps. Well I'm going to claim it again and give a better one.
It wasn't rejected for that reason. It's been reviewed more than once because it's been re-released so many times over the years. So it's not really necessary to give it yet another full review.

It should be pretty obvious to anyone paying attention by now that my standards of a good map are way higher than some people here. So if you see me point out flaws in a map and think to yourself "These flaws wouldn't bother me" (Or "Those aren't flaws at all OMG UDDERDUDE U SUX IM GONNA GO 0 STAR ALL YOUR MAPS ON IDGAMES"), you should prob. just go play the map anyway.

I'm not going to overreact to any extent like that, and neither should anyone else.

You have the right to your own opinion, and just as much right to share it. :)

I just wanted to let phobosdeimos1 know I feel bad his best work so far got subjected to a much higher-standard reviewer than his earlier maps, and because of this, someone who casually reads /newstuff may mistakenly think it's his worst work so far and they should play the Raw Action series and ignore SpireC - which if anything the exact opposite of that is the truth (although, all in all, I can't really say I think the Raw Action series isn't worth a quick go too, especially if all you're looking for is some no-nonsense entertainment).

And so I wanted to put the review in the spotlight so others could share their opinions and make PD1 feel more confident he is improving, not the opposite, as it may easily appear if someone just read the /newstuff reviews and compared them. That's all.

Is is possible to play Spire Complex with Chocolate Doom? I'm using the latest version (1.6) and managed to play through MAP01 like this:
chocolate-doom -merge spirec.wad

But then it crashed upon loading MAP02:
R_TextureNumForName: COMPUTE2COMPUTE2- not found

It looks like -warp 03 starts up okay, but I'd rather not skip levels... Btw, I think MAP01 was pretty good, although it took me a while to find the switch that activated the staircase behind the blue door. Yeah, it's hidden in the corner of that imp monster closet on the right side as you enter the blue room. I ended up walking around the level because I didn't notice it at first. Btw, one thing you might consider doing to make them more visible when they're recessed like that is to place them in a small flashing light sector. Otherwise I enjoyed the E1 style, with visible secrets, lots of windows between areas, etc.

No it's only really Boom compatible which I didn't know at the time (I didn't even knkw what that meant)

thanks, all levels had a crazy idea about them. Look in the later maps for exclusively one colour areas.
