Sarge Baldy, not to be confused with Sgt Crispy (update on him is below), has updated his previously unknown to me page with a review of a map with a long name that I won't bother to post here. Also he's got a bit of news on his level in the works and some comments on a random /idgames map he grabbed. Hoorj!

"I couldn't help but wonder why he decided to make a sequel to The Inmost Dens. I consider it probably the weakest level in all of Doom II." (About mm map13)

o..k...

As Opulent said, nice to see another review site though.

Heh, I chose map14 as my favorite doom2 map in that "fave doom 1 & doom 2 maps" thread... not to mention that I chose Requiem as my favorite DOOM addon in an earlier thread. So yeah.

Opulent, how come your updates don't get NEWSed (or mewsed)? A pity, since I'm sure it would be a good opportunity to exchange views on uploaded demos or WADs recorded and any new recording ideas. I'm sure they'll post news if you email the news addy; maybe they have been too busy to notice you updated...

"There it is folks...Trinity College, in Cambridge, Massachusetts." (about Trinity.wad). Hmm.

The guy clearly has a totally different taste in wads from me, but it's still a useful page, since it provides info and screenshots for a wide variety of wads.

I don't agree much with the reviews either, after checking some of the map scores for MM (like how mm12 was ranked over mm17 and a few others) but opposing viewpoints are always enjoyable to read.

"There it is folks...Trinity College, in Cambridge, Massachusetts."

You'd have thought the .ac.uk in the authors' e-mail address would be a big clue. I guess not.

Yeah, I really wrote some of these way too late at night :) And I figure people would disagree with some of my reviews. I rated them based on how much I enjoyed them, I wasn't trying to calculate how much the average user might. I certainly welcome criticism tho.

reviews are just that, reviews... opinions.
We're not bashing your opinion, just voicing that we disagree.
cph (Doom Underground) always supports his words with good reasons... either one way or the other.
heck, my reviews site is just a listing. =P

Mewse, that would explain why no one has posted news about my site after the last 2 updates, since I assumed news@doomworld.com was all that was needed.
http://www.doomworld.com/sda/doom_sda.htm
http://www.doomworld.com/sda/tas_dsda.htm
have both been updates several times.

btw, Map14 is one of the single best Doom maps, IMO. very few maps that are clearly better.

Heh someone pointed out this review page to me a few weeks ago, and I quite like his honest attitude towards reviews, rather than just going with the flow.

Point A: What the fuck? Since when are you updating Doomworld, Cyb?

Point B: Mr. Baldy gave one of my maps a pretty good review, so I fully endorse his review site.

Most of his reviews make sense.
