Are there plans to add support for the original Chex Quest? And on a similar note, how much would needed to be done (if it would ever be possible) to have Chex Quest 3 supported? What features does it have that Eternity can't do, and are there plans to add them?

Yeah, it would be lovely if, one day, Chex Quest could be played like the good old days with the proper video intro as well as synced demos... Neither of which is offered in any other port that I'm aware of. :)

Since I don't have the original unmodified Chex Quest IWAD, it's difficult for me to add support for it. Every version I've found of it is one intended to be used with a DeHackEd patch, and that's not what I need.

Odamex and Chocolate Doom support the deh patch to change copyrighted strings. If you want to put those strings into your source then you wouldn't need to load the deh.

No I'm referring to one that relies on a DEH patch to do everything and ends up providing a very crude approximation of the original game, with monsters that hurt each other, red damage fade, etc.

But are there actually any differences in the IWADs between these versions? Why would there be? The DEH stuff was created later so that people could play chex.wad with Boom or other ports instead of chex.exe. It covers everything that DeHackEd can cover, and the text file details the rest.

Death Egg's link contains an ISO image of the original Chex Quest CD. I don't think it's possible to make it more original and unmodified than that.
