Is there an option that prevents picking up medkits? Everytime I run eternity I can't pickup any medkit (health bonus and weapons pickup fine).

There are no medkits in the game, though. Only medikits.

IDDQD? If you're compiling from source it could be almost anything.

You have an out-of-date base folder. check your zip file from where you extracted Eternity and copy it over. be sure to REPLACE them, not copy and keep both files!

In the event he's checking out SVN and not unzipping, he needs to make sure that Eternity is using the copy of /base that he checked out from SVN, and not one from the previous release.

The items.edf module now defines for example how much health a medikit gives, via an "item effect". This is part of the new in-progress inventory system. Without that definition, a medikit has no effect defined for it.
