Twisted Metal Black vs. Twisted Metal Black Online

I've just ordered the original TMB for the PS2 because I didn't think it was possible to play offline games on TMBO, but then brother told me he thought it was possible, so could someone please tell me whether or not it is possible to play offline games on Twisted Metal Black Online? I need an answer soon so I can cancel the order if I need to, so PLEASE help me.
