DirectX 9.0A

Recommended Posts

What is DirectX 9.0A. Look at my PC specs on my sig. Somebody told me I have a awsome PC. Then they told me I should install DirectX 9.0A. I don't want to jack with my PC if its running games fine in the first place and it is. What should I do? Go for it or leave it be? If I should where do I find DirectX 9.0A?

It's 9.0c now.

That only works in WinXP though, doesn't it?

From what I gather, right now it's only included in the Windows XP Service Pack 2, which is only in its pre-release stages.

some systems won't be able to reap the functionality of b.
if you have an older OS and a slower machine (and you don't play 2003/2004 games) then it might not be to your advantage to install directx9.x.
You can always uninstall it, I guess, so give it a try.

You can't uninstall any version of DirectX, at least not officially.

I've done it on win2000. ???
you can always roll back your registry though and remove the 'new' dlls.
in most cases, getting the latest version of Directx is the wisest thing to do.

It may be possible to downgrade back, but not completely uninstall. I have DirectX 9.0b installed on my computer running Windows 2000 and see no entry in Add/Remove Programs.
