NiGHTMARE Posted November 19, 2004 Something tells me if this bill does pass, there'll be even more US citizens moving to Canada... :P 0 Share this post Link to post
Relica Religia Posted November 19, 2004 The FCC can suck my fucking balls. That's right, FCC: SUCK MY FUCKING BALLS. Censor that, dipshits. 0 Share this post Link to post

Quasar Posted November 19, 2004 It is clear that the radical militant right in the US is prepared to declare outright war on everyone that does not agree with their religious and ideological intolerance. In tandem with the corporate trend toward cultural totalitarianism -- their hard lobbying for the infinite extension of copyright, trademark, patent, and other such IP laws -- this is extremely dangerous. There's no question that these two sides will find a common ground when it comes to the restriction of freedom, and the party which represents both of these bodies the most was just given another 4 years of absolute control over every branch of government and bureaucracy in the nation. The term "culture war" is already being used by some people to name what is going to happen during the next four years. The only question is how real of a war it's going to become before it's over. I predicted that there would be strong push by right-wing hardliners if Bush won, and that the president himself will probably push for several bills that make the gay marriage amendment look gracious. He owes his second term to the religious right and they're ready to demand repayment. The shit is about to hit the fan. 0 Share this post Link to post

Snarboo Posted November 19, 2004 Ralphis said:What a retarded manager, insulting potential customers. Idiot. Behold capitalism at work! No matter how stupid the customer is, they're always right. As long as you get their money, they could set fire to your store if they felt like it. Seriously though, it is the manager's store and he doesn't have to take anyone's money if he doesn't want to. 0 Share this post Link to post
Captain Red Posted November 19, 2004 I'd give him a fucking medal for treating that childish moron with EXACTLY the respect she deserved. If more store managers did that, the world would be a better place. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted November 19, 2004 Ralphis said:What a retarded manager, insulting potential customers. Idiot. 1. She wasn't going to buy anything anyway that day, and even if she was going to return, so what? The store is in the middle of the mall, so they get more traffic than a freeway. One lost customer won't hurt business any. 2. Modern business practices have moved away from the old maxim "the customer is always right" and they now will tell any annoying customer to fuck off because they actualy lose money off them. For example, people who return stuff. When people return something they are costing that business money, so it's best to make them feel annoyed with the process so they never try to return anything. Sooo...technicaly he was going along with common modern corporate practices. 3. It was fucking funny. 0 Share this post Link to post
deathbringer Posted November 19, 2004 had a woman who was a member came in and bitch, bitch, bitch about HP supporting gays Either: Christians are idiotic and she was complaining about a US TV network i have never heard of broadcasting gay-friendly shows like "Queer as folk" or: Christians are barely-conscious subhumans and she was bitching about a brand of printers and scanners "supporting gays". Actually my HP scanner broke down, preventing me from scanning my anti-homophobic comics, so HP are not supporting gays, UMAX are though! 0 Share this post Link to post

fodders Posted November 19, 2004 I'm not saying the report below is true; of course, I have no way of knowing. I wish I could say I can not believe it. Comments from a very well-informed source inside the White House. Homosexuality is to be made illegal [a new Federal law suggested by Delay and firmly endorsed by Rove] a form of Creationism to be taught in all schools, a modified draft, [mostly of technicians], military action against Iran and Syria, a strong message sent to both North Korea, the PRC and Russia to keep out of American business or suffer "serious consequences," utter destruction of Iraqi cities that harbor any terrorists, regardless of the civilian casualties ['Nits make lice," as Rove told me when I mentioned the possibility of large casualties, to include women and children] US to get political control over the Ukraine and other Russian or former Russian areas, the securing of oil areas in Iran and the subsequent cutting off of exports to China [whom Rove loathes] and Japan with all oil being shipped either to the US or England. France, Germany and several other countries to be "starved of oil" for their lack of support for Bush, a board to be set up to control "vile and degrading pornography" in the films coming out of Hollywood and "encouragement" to produce more Mel Gibson-style religious films, the prohibition of any American citizen to make any investments or bank deposits outside the United States and the sequestering of any such funds in countries under treaty with us, resurrection of the old sedition laws to prevent any more criticism of government or what is amounting to the state religion, the overturn of Rove v. Wade and a host of environmental acts that Bush's business friends claim are restricting their businesses, a strong encouragement to permit open and free immigration by Mexicans [already 13 million here as of two weeks ago] so they can supply American business cheap labor and replace some of the grunt jobs that even India won't perform, laws to permit off shoring American jobs by business friends to improve their profit margins, investigation of legal possibilities to permit Bush to run again [i.e., lifting the two-term mandate] and the calculated marginalization of the Democrat party and a planned strategy to oust Democrats as state governors. http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=58914 0 Share this post Link to post
The Ultimate DooMer Posted November 19, 2004 That doesn't surprise me in the least, and puts all terrorists and dictators everywhere to shame. Welcome to the dark future. 0 Share this post Link to post
lerner Posted November 19, 2004 This is why I wish more Christians would be like me and realize that not EVERYONE likes to be censored. What you watch and surf and what your kids watch and surf are YOUR responsibilities, not someone elses. It's a problem with people getting a bit more fanatical in the wrong way. 0 Share this post Link to post
Snarboo Posted November 19, 2004 That sounds more like a wishlist to me, Fodders. I can't see all those plans happening in four years, or at all. For instance, I don't see how you can make an actual person or someone who has different feelings illegal(ie homosexuality). Some of them are very likely, however, such as an invasion of Syria or Iran and the stuff about putting pressure on other nations. 0 Share this post Link to post

Or maybe that's just what the Alien Overlords have instructed them to do... Hmmm. I've been playing entirely too much Half-Life 2. 0 Share this post Link to post

Quasar Posted November 20, 2004 Oh man, I am SO keeping a checklist now. Of course, by the time I get past item 3 or 4, I will be needing a quick way out of this country (provided that I'm not already in jail or dead by that point). 0 Share this post Link to post
Sephiroth Posted November 20, 2004 a family i knew disapeared shortly after the election. chances are they moved somewhere. however the guy was getting threats for writing anti-bush stuff. non of it was really that bad and not much differnt than other stuff i have seen or heard. however the guy had been reported to the police, homeland security and other such things. I was also helping him distribute the stuff, and kept his backups. these of course were over 15 GB of images, letters, newspapper clipping, scan articles, other newsletters. all reaching as far back as the 1970's. i am not gonna touch the stuff. however as requested i made a shit load of copies and stashed them in places in case something happened. the guy was not a conspiracy nut. however i stopped by their home and no one was there. they have yet to return calls or emails. i am debating if i should mail one of his hard drives to his mother or sister. so far i have not had any issues with the government, but i am sure they atleast know who i am. 0 Share this post Link to post

deathbringer Posted November 20, 2004 They could just make a "national firewall" to stop americans viewing anything which is critical of thier government (or anything that is not AOL), it worked in China. In other news china are red commie bastards who need to be nuked for taking away thier people's civil freedoms 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted November 20, 2004 Well one thing on that list, stopping exports to China, is a good thing. I don't know why we continue to support a country that has baby concentration camps. I don't see why the Hell the Administration would support increased immigration from Mexico. For one, isn't that something the conservatives have been against for years? And wouldn't it open our borders more so the terrorists could slip in? Yeah, lets strip search all the fucking WASPs who want to visit their cousins in Kentucky, but let the Arabs disguise themselves as Mexicans so they can slip across the border. lollerskates 0 Share this post Link to post

It's called cheap labour, and with the changes they could do it legally in their own country, instead of doing it in other countries and ousting their presidents for opposing it. 0 Share this post Link to post

pilottobombadier Posted November 21, 2004 Right now in British Columbia, they're making legislation that's set up to give anyone trying to send information south of the border without authorisation, especially corporations. If they get caught - and they will if any info is sent and actions are made - they'll be fist-fucked up the ass with fines. It's not much, but at least it's a start. On an interesting note, anyone else hear that Al Jourgensen from Ministry's been put on the Fatherland Security watchdog list? 0 Share this post Link to post
