Why not? They released a modmaker's cut of the source code of Q3A. They'll put out something similar for Doom 3, I'm sure.

They'll likely want to protect the source... no DOOM 3 clones with the same coding ^_^;;. I also doubt it as the code'll likely be huge... unfriendly... complex... fanged...
