Bugs coming out of your skin? Mysterious new disease spreading

Recommended Posts

Hereditary doesn't make sense, because

1) Him and his wife have it
2) He got it in his late 20's and his kids got it around the same time

And this theory of them being "delusional" is just complete crap. I don't know how else to say it. You'd think the medical profession wouldn't be stuffed with dingbats.

Until the condition is verified as an infection and a better understanding of how it is caused you can't say it's contagious with any certainty.

That's why I said "the possibility exists" and not "it is absolute certainly contagious". If it is hereditary, why would an entire family suddenly come down with it at roughly the same time?

You have to be a dingbat to spend tens of thousands of dollars on education then go into a job where you have shit hours, are exposed to potentially dangerous diseases, and have to go through ridiculous red tape to avoid getting sued (which is why doctors are so test happy today). One of my cousins and her husband are doctors and are considering leaving the profession because all of the money you make goes to your insurance, you don't have time for a real life, and it is a pretty thankless job.

Dr. Zin, I agree except for the money part. Even with the cost of malpractice insurance, doctors are basically swimming in the lettuce.

It depends on what you do. Specialists make shitloads of money, yes, but a general practictioner only make like 140,000k a year (average) before you figure in insurance and all of the other expenses. For the amount of work and stress they have (for example: two days off every two weeks and a rotating weekend of being on call those two weeks) it really isn't any suprise that people go out and get an MBA or whatever and then "work" four days a week for an even higher salary. HEll, we a going to have a shortage of general practitioners soon because that is the most stressful and time consuming position but it is also pays the least.

GPs maybe, but residents sure aren't.

No, but I did see a show on the Learning Channel on 50 Strangest Things Removed from the Human Body. And strange it was. A woman went on vacation in Florida, and when she came home there was a bump on her head. When she went to the doctor, they found that a large mosquito larva had been living there. This thing was like an inch long, too.

I've been removing a lot of white heads from my forehead from some recent bacterial infection of some sort and I refer to the "core" of zits as "the worm."
And I live in Florida. Thanks.

THAT'S PRETTY GODDAMN COMFORTABLE, SHITPRICK. Greedy motherfucker if you think that's close to the poorhouse. Do you have any idea what the federal poverty standards are and how many people live their whole lives close to the poverty line? (Myself included.) Fuck yourself.

Anyway, this story reminded me of something I heard today about something being found in the atmosphere that has all the characteristics of bacteria -- except for DNA. Believed to be extraterrestrial in origin. Strange diseases, ahoy!

Are you talking about this?
