Okay, so there's a lot of talk about storylines in games. What do you guys think is the best way to handle story-telling in a game?

In-engine interactive cutscenes

If they're interactive, they are not cutscenes.

But that's what I voted for anyway. :)

I don't mind Quake 2 style mission briefings and radio transmission, but I think they should really try to make the perfect in-between level cutscenes for the new Doom game. Not too long, and to the point, but interesting nonetheless.
