About Deus Ex:

Some of the voice actors were good, yes -- but most were absolute shambles. Paris was the worst of it...

Also, "A BOMB."

And Vampire: Bloodlines had stellar voice acting, I agree.

I recently started playing Jedi Academy again.I ran across a Mod called Escape from Yavin 4.The gameplay is awesome but the voice acting is god awful,I'd rather just have the subtitles.

EDIT:
@Stupidbunny:I really didnt hear much about heretic 2...I think I saw 1 ad for it in PC gamer.

Heretic II generally wasn't a very notable game, I didn't think. The technology was technically better than Heretic's was, but I frankly found the first game much more enjoyable.

And as I said, the voice acting was not good...it kind of reminded me of Oblivion's voice acting (don't get me wrong though, Oblivion is an excellent game.)

FFX

yeah, I was gonna bring that up, even though IMO it doesn't qualify as good game play either. the first game to in the FF series to feature voice acting and it sucked. wouldv'e been better without it. tidus sounded like a whiney prick. crappy voice for a main character.

how bout starfox? being constantly bombarded with stuff like:

"do a barrel roll!"
"use the boost to get thru!"
"I can't let you do that starfox"

it was so much better when they just had the little babbling. sometimes I think voice acting is one of the worst things to happen to video games.

I actually really enjoyed Heretic II. Not so much as a sequel to Heretic, but as a game unto itself that continued the story. Its game play is VERY similar to another favorite of mine, Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness.

I also liked Heretic II, and never found fault with the voice acting or any one other aspect. But then again, I last played it before I became the bitter, cynical man with excessively strong aesthetic opinions that I am today.

Worst I've seen yet. Devil May Cry. I had to hit mute every time a cutscene came up, a game has never made me sigh out of embarassment so many times.

Are you on crack, Strife has some AWESOME voice acting. The Governor is a great example, his tone is perfect and so is his pace. "Give you a hint, when I stop talking to you, you leave." is probably the most perfectly delivered line in all of videogame history.

Quoted for FUCKIN TRUTH!

Heretic 2 lacked any kind of atmosphere.

You sure it wasn't just the script?

Oh yes. The acting is more soap opera than anything, but still awful. The script just helps accent it. "I just wanted to fill her dark soul with liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!". Shudder inducing. Or I'm just crazy. :/ Either way!

Soap opera acting isn't bad...the problem is that being good at soap opera acting makes you annoying as shit. I have played only a bit of Devil May Cry, but the cutscenes I saw were pretty much all annoying like this.

Although sometimes the acting really WAS just plain bad.

I'd say that every game with french voice fits in there (recently I played french version of metal gear solid... I can tell you it hurts)

Do you say that because I'm french? :p
No, it's a difficult and complete language, I enjoy it (even if I admit that english is more handy). But sometimes I don't know where the translaters found these kind of voices.
