Prince of Darkness Posted April 26, 2009 I bought the Quake collector's edition some time ago and installed Quake 2 on one of my computers. I got a newer one, and tried to install Quake 2 on it as well. However, all I get is the DirectX 8.0 setup screen. No matter what I do, it never lets me install Quake 2; even if I do install DirectX nothing happens. And I'm the bloody administrator! Does anyone have a fix? Or had this happen to them too? 0 Share this post Link to post
Reisal Posted April 26, 2009 Did you try installing the newest version of DirectX over the one Quake2 wants installed before playing? 0 Share this post Link to post
leileilol Posted April 27, 2009 Quake2 had a outdated DirectX installer as the autorun in some of its early CD masters. You'll have to manually locate the setup folder and execute the setup program. 0 Share this post Link to post

Well, I guess I can now ask how to get it's music working.. 0 Share this post Link to post
Edward850 Posted April 28, 2009 Its music came off the cd, so make sure your cd drive is setup to support music playback. 0 Share this post Link to post
