That's the thing, it might have been a reaction from all the medicine he was taking. They didn't find cocaine specifically, they found Benzoylecgonine. While that is a metabolite of cocaine, it doesn't mean that he snorted coke daily, or even used it. Benzoylecgonine is a topical local anesthetic for muscle and joint pain, and since Billy had quite a bit of that he probably used it. Plus anything that's an alkaloid can make this substance if the conditions are right (and boy, were they, he took quite the spectrum of medications).
I don't buy it.
Edit: I was half-right, he used Esterom
And Ecgonine is Schedule II. Hell, even cocaine is, in some cases. I may sound like I'm defending him, but crack doesn't cause all those things when you consider he was taking a dozen other meds that make crack look like child's play... Oh phooey what do I know, it must be the crack!!1
