Meh - commercial networks are clamouring for cheap content that appeals to the lowest common denoninator (aka - "Reality TV") in order to fill some gaps between the high profile sports events/franchises that consume most of their budgets. The introduction of Digital TV to Australia has resulted in free-to-air broadcasters having 2nd and 3rd channels which they've promptly filled with re-runs, a practice I consider a terrible waste of electricity though it's probably the best they can do on their limited budgets.

The only TV I watch is: a movie channel which I used to think was something of a poor man's HBO, but in the last year or so I've changed my mind and think that it's way better than HBO because they show great movies from all over the world and not just recent big-budget stuff; a Polish channel that focuses on cultural events, airing concerts and visiting art galleries coupled with releasing some really forgotten stuff from our national TV's archives; news channels and sports channels.

The only one that couldn't be replaced by digging stuff up on the internet is the Polish one, so I guess I wouldn't really mind if I had to get rid of my TV set.
