Well, we haven't lost any of our major freedoms yet (not fully anyway), but we now have to go through full-body scanners to board a plane (which basically takes a picture of you without clothes), law enforcement agencies can now legally wiretap anyone without warrents, habeus corpus has been suspended (as snakes pointed out), and police are needing warrants to do anything less and less. Still, these little steps are slowly eroding our constitution.
And did anyone ever hear of Bush or Obama trying to do such things?
That's my point. I said it's at least 10x worse in those other countries than it is here.

Well I don't mean just asbos, but other more innocuous instances. I don't have any examples on hand, but it seems like a week doesn't go by without one or two articles on Fark from England that go something like "Old Man Yells at Kids on Lawn; Gets Hauled to Jail for Questioning". That sort of thing.
