Yeah, he "renounced" it by saying that he is "siding" with Liberals, but will keep voting Republican, which in my book is utter horse, cow, camel and mule dung.
Last time I checked, affiliation to a party meant actually voting for it. Seriously, what's the point in this?
I'm not always going to vote GOP, but I tend to. Why? Gun rights, a strong military, fiscal responsibility. All things that the GOP (kinda) stands for, although there are a lot of bad apples in the ranks (McCain, Palin, Romney, etc.). I'll even admit that Obama has delivered on the first two (although Biden is still a threat to the first).
I have no problem voting Democrat as long as the canidate isn't going to screw the country up. Think of JFK and Truman, and you have an idea of a Dem I'd vote for. The problem is, I just don't see anyone like that within the ranks. Yeah I voted McCain, but I regretted it. TBH, I'd actualy PREFER Obama to him.
The Libertarian party is so fragmented right now, they will NEVER gain a seat in anything beyond the local mayoral office. Hell, most of the Libertarians I know don't consider ME Libertarian. I can vote any way I want. I am the ultimate anomaly.
