If you've played into this game, what best summarizes your take on it?
It\'s a great game however you roll the dice!
Good game, but only really in coop mode.
Not a very good game. I don\'t recommend buying it for either solo or coop.

Personally I liked SS2 better than the first, because it had more varied environments but played pretty much the same. The egyptian theme got pretty old by the end of SS1.
This is probably like I liked TSE more than TFE. While some of the egypt levels were pretty cool (like Karnak at night), it was boring in some places and I'm glad that TSE added alternate themes, especially the gothic parts.

Anyways, I'll probably check out SS3 at some point, it just seems worth it from what I've heard.

I'm planning on getting it off Steam once I'm done with my classes for this quarter. Hopefully before their steam sale as well since it'd be nice to play without having to deal with insanely slow, if not nonexistant download speeds

Slow? lol, the slowest I've gotten a download off Steam was like 2.5 megs a second. Also, this game is completely win. I loved it :)

I'm talking about during Steam sales when their servers are constantly being hammered. You have tried downloading games during these holiday sales right? It tends to be a total nightmare.

For the most part I'm liking what I've seen so far. Can't say I'll be getting any achievements though. I ended up cheating past the fourth level since the chopper part was complete bullshit. Flying boss monster? No problem. Flying boss monster that can only be hurt by one weapon? Still not a problem. Have to grab said weapon while being chased by the boss? Still not a problem, adds a bit of tension. Having to find a couple of vaguely hidden switches amidst a maze to disable several turrets which will pretty much instantly kill you the second they see you, while being swarmed by dozens of enemies, while the boss chases you? That's just a inexcusably stupid design decision right there. Oh and what kind of health items are scattered around the maze? Pill bottles that only give you +1 health. Way to go Croteam!

Sounds awesome.

Just wait until after the minigun introduction (proper one, not the minigun found in prior secrets...) ;) Unrelenting hordes of enemies. Quite possibly the greatest Serious Sam game yet.

I actually really enjoy the battles so far. The level designs tend to lead towards much more intense battles than in the original serious sam where the fights pretty much boiled down to just circle strafing around a massive empty area. It's just that I'm not too fond of the bosses so far. The closest thing to a boss fight in the game I've enjoyed so far is the one where you encounter the biomechanoid for the first time (I was expecting it to be pretty easy since the biomechanoids in the original serious sam were insultingly easy but god damn they buffed them up), and I really don't think you can call that a boss fight.

Early game experience

Those urban levels are the greatest troll a game developer has ever done against both its userbase and an entire genre. The game basically goes "Here's what's wrong with shooters" and then it gives you some C4 and Sam says "Honey, I'm home!" and suddenly you start getting the best Serious Sam game of the series.

But yeah, you really need to be sporting a trollface to enjoy those early levels. It has glimpses of Sam, but the best is yet to come.

Tried playing it but it crashes every five minutes. I'm sure it would be a blast if it weren't unplayable for me.

Really not digging the retarded metal-core sounding music at a few of the combat sequences, feel like vomiting my guts out every time one of those pretentious tracks play. The presentation is completely bland, the texturing looks very similar to CoD not like the colourfully contrasted previous Serious Sams, but looking beyond all these HUGE flaws there's plenty of fun to be had in this game, the combat revolves around quick decision making, fast reflexes and maneuverability which is very rare to see in this stale modern era of FPS gaming.

I didn't mind the city levels that much. The first two were kinda "eh", but when you got to level 3, rushing the zombie soldier guys with the Shotgun is when it really started feeling like a Sam game.
