Excuse me, I'm going to go curl up in the corner in a fetal position for a while.

Sounds to me like it may be FOV. I know Metro 2033's making me feel a bit ill when I play (partially because the damn thing ignores and overwrites my custom FOV settings, forcing it to stay at 45 degrees Vert. FOV far as I can tell). Even S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CoP was giving me some when I went to replay some part in widescreen.

Console ports with terrible FOV are good at making me feel sick. Playing WoW for prolonged periods of time used to make me feel nauseous. Like starting to sweat and spatial awareness dropping.

Oh right, fun with FOV. I watched some video of COD MW3. That gave me some serious vertigo. I watch Quake 3 and Live games regularly and never felt anything like that. But a few minutes of MW3 and I was done.

Funny thing about MW3: I hear they don't even let you alter FOV in a CFG file anymore. Like, console is locked out and editing the actual CFG can lead to a ban in MP.

Of course, this is hearsay and I'm not going to drop $60 to find out, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out they actually did do something that piss-chuggingly asinine.

I've never felt no such affect, though I go feel a little disoriented while playing Skyrim on the PS3, maybe because of the FOV.

Halo. The game sucks too much, and gives me nausea.

So I've been wondering how I can play games like Doom, C&Q, Fallout etc. for days on end without any adverse conditions, but others like Halo 3 or Serious Sam 2 are physically (!) impossible.

Maybe because these games have way too much strong collors.

COD: Black Ops,
It's engine is based on id Tech 3, which powers Open Arena, a game I play a lot, but never made me feel sick.
