The ego is what allows them to persist, as you cannot fix the flaws you're not willing to acknowledge. And the mind is very efficient at blaming fuckups on others, and taking credit for succcess (there are very strong, irresistible emotional events that happen when the ego is doing this, just observe yourself and you'll see it).
In fact, instead of trying to help correct this, we have devious people exploiting it for their own gain (advertisers, politicians, etc.) The ego is like a back-door root shell to your mind, via your emotions.
So the problem with humans is that they're still humans? Is that something that needs to be fixed? If someone pulled it off, how would that make the world a "utopia?"
