Wich level in Doom II is your favourite? Mine is the Spirit World because I love the room with all the Arachnotrons and the two Spiderdemon Masterminds...

Map 10, Refueling Base (scary as hell the first time I played it...of course, I was 8 at the time mind you :P)

Map 15, Industrial Zone

Map 24, Chasms

Map 28, Spirit World (most hellish level)

Map 29, The Living End

All the levels are awesome, of course. Though a couple of them are more fun to play than the others.

Most of the Doom2 levels are great as far as level design goes. But they don't look very good.

And I personally like the base kind of layout (rooms connected in cool ways) better than the city layout (larger areas with diffuse structures) that's being used in almost all Doom2's levels.

Well, the only level in Doom 2 I really "like" is map28.

But the map I play the most in any Doom game would be e2m2 (I know, it's not what this thread is about!).

The vast majority of the doom2 maps were good in some way or another. The concept was good, the flow was good, the weapon balance was good, etc. It's just that most of them looked like some kind of Cranky Steve victim.

My favorites are...

Map05 - The Waste Tunnels
Map11 - Circle of Death
Map14 - The Inmost Dens
Map21 - Nirvana (For DM purposes)
Map24 - The Chasm
Map29 - The Living End
