I'm surprised that people care so much about this.

So in one way im not going to miss anything new but I am deeply upset that I now know there is 100% no chance of an X-wing/Tie fighter re-make like they did with Monkey Island.

It's not impossible. The entire X-Wing series were created by an external studio (Totally Games), and now LucasArts has been reduced to a company that will only work with external studios.

They did make all these adventure games -- but the people behind them have all since gone to Telltale Games, Double Fine Productions, or other places. They did make Dark Forces, Outlaws, and Jedi Knight -- but again, most of the people behind these games had left long before Disney bought out the Lucas Empire.

Jedi Knight 2 & 3 were made by Raven Software; the "Old Republic" games were all made by Bioware, Obsidian, etc.

In fact, if we go here and sort the columns a bit, we can see that the LucasArts game made internally in the last ten years are:
* Gladius (never heard of that one)
* RTX Red Rock (also never heard of that one)
* Star Wars: Republic Commando
* The Force Unleashed
* Lucidity (never heard either of that one, but it looks nice)
* The Force Unleashed 2

That's all folks. Six games since 2003. Half of which are big-budget Star Wars titles, the other half being very obscure titles nobody ever heard about.
