When Coopersville posted a thread titled "imp bust (drawing") I thought of a drawing of physical imp bust sculpture, like if weta did a line of doom memorabilia in the vain of their Lord of the Rings statues.

LOL I made a sexy female version of the cyberdemon titled cyber-demonis, and a female version of the maggot from D3, that are too hot for this forum. but I will see if I can take some pics of em for ya.

anyway I don't know how far I will take this sketch but I will add a little color. I'm using a tablet and it's a little weird.

Your imp bust design looks pretty good, but I think the base is far too generic--it should be DOOM-ier.

Base would be fine for a Doom-themed chess set or (sudden flash of inspiration) a player piece for Bloodskull's DooMopoly. I like the bust - well done.

thanks for the comments guys. I'm trying to add some exitement to an otherwise pretty bland monster design.

I haven't had much time to work on it, and don't plan on taking it too far. But I thought I would post progress pics and you guys could give me some advise. what do you guys think of the twisted horns?

I will deal with the base later, I think I'll just can it. And have the rest of the body fade off the page.

I agree with newt that a pentagram would make for a good base design, and the shape is simple enough that it wouldn't be too difficult to fabricate.

The horns don't look terribly twisted to me, I'm afraid. That wouldn't be a bad way to add some visual punch to the Imp's design without going too far off model.

thanks for the comment MmM, you always have something interesting to say. I decided to give him some legs. still have to fix his left arm and I'm thinking of giving him claws rather then fingernails.

I really like how you did the Imp's facial expression. The details are very imp-like, and the horns go very good with it's musculature.

Also the pentagram base sounds awesome.

Lookin' good, especially the shading/pose refinements--I was just thinking, if you removed an imp's spikes, and colored 'em blue, they look sorta like Zen the Intergalactic Ninja.

just googled some images of that character and don't see a huge resemblance but the classic doom imp is so generic looking that he could almost look like any other generic character. quite frankly I find that the imp more resembles E.T.

Does anybody think that imps look like the TMNT? I remember, in an issue of EGM, they compared the DOOM imps to the turtles, and I just don't see the resemblance at all, I mean, they're not even green and don't have shells.

I think I found my favorite anyway.

I hate the spider demon, cacodemon, pain elemental, baron of hell and others that look fat.

But I loooove that hell knight, she's my favorite. Forget impse, she is where the party is at! Knightse? lololol...

This inspires me to draw something sexy and PG rated.

I have to say the imp bust and the final drawing were really awesome. It's nicely detailed and looks great overall. Keep up the good work, man. I'd like to see if you can make a colored version of it.
