Chapter 1

It's dead. That horrible, ugly, techno-demon is dead. Thank God, if there is still a God. It's dead...it's dead...what's that noise? more demons teleporting in?...no...not more...so weak...wait...it's four marines, in bright shiny green armour...and 2 UAC medics in white armour... thank god it's over...


...Blackness...


Your mind quietly thinking back, back beyond the icon, beyond the arriving on Earth... You remember... the House of Pain... It had UAC pipes, what were they doing there? And the capitol of Hell... Pandemonium... it had the same layout as a UAC outpost... What the hell was going on?!?...


What's this?... Where are you?
White...
soft...
sterile...
must be...hospital?

"You're awake. The General will want to speak to you"

Dumb...clueless...nurses...they could never know how horrible it was...in the deep, dark pits of Hell...burning...horrible...

You feel the bed move away from the wall...it looks like a military hospital; guards at the door, doctors saluting each other...the bed keeps moving towards an elevator. The door closes and the numbers flash.

...B2...

The door slides open on the other side of the elevator to reveal a dimly lit hall. UAC medics are waiting with a wheelchair and help you into it. they push you past room after room, until you reach a heavy door with fingerprint ID locks. Guarding it are two commamders. From the look of it, they have just come out of training, their bright red armour peirces the dark.

Red...like blood...so much blood...on your hands...what will the families of the countless undead troopers you killed do to you? God...how could they understand?

The door opens, there are four human troopers, also looking fresh from training. There is a small table with a lamp dangling about a foot above it. The medics prop you next to the table, so you can see down the hall, all the way to the elevator...which suddenly opens.

A man exits. He is carrying a breifcase and is wearing a grey suit, but has TOD ribbons on his chest. He also has a buzz cut like the troopers around you. He flashes a quick salute to the troopers at the door and at the ones in the room, then gestures for them to leave. He remains standing, and with diffulculty, you stand up and attempt to salute him.


He returns no salute...
