What's gonna be done with them? are they getting replacements? Can we plop them down wherever we desire? Or are they still relagated to the secret levels? If not, I'm adding a few to MAP23.

If the Nazis were replaced with a more universal enemy appearance (heh, universal soldiers) then the mappers could use them in any map, not just 31/32. Of course, that would remove them as Easter egg items.

Yeah, but I guess it is true that the SS Nazi soldiers really aren't necessary in normal levels, because you've already got the Former Humans and the Shotgun Guys and Commandos and all that fun stuff.

Yeeg. don't worry. If i used them, I wouldn't be stupid about it. I was thinking of a zombie with a really heavy rifle for the Nazi SS, or zombie players! even better! do that! zombie players!

I think a zombie player wouldn't be hard to do. Just take the original sprites, zombify them and replace the SS. The shouldn't take more than a day or two. and it certainly would be better than nazis coming out of a teleporter at you.

Sounds nice, and I'm sure would look good/cool if done well. The tommy guns might give it a gangster feel and be in keeping with the out of time feeling of the SS guys in doom

But guys in doom toting guns whilst wearing trench coats, anyone think this - if badly done - could look like a columbine tribute sprite? Not a mistake that should be made on such a high profile project, representative of the community as a whole. Or am I just being hyper-sensitive on the issue?
