I would agree with people that you could at least have made some sprites for the project as a way to give something back to the project...

I just noticed Freedoom on there the other day. Then I got to thinking about why anybody would be crazy enough to release content they create under a BSD-style license.

In other news, it's extremely difficult to play on the iPhone. So is the demo version of Wolfenstein, although the simpler geometry makes it a bit easier.

Freedoom chose the BSD license so that people could use parts of it, even in commercial projects, without worrying about copyright infringement. This does cause consternation sometimes but I'm personally fine with it.
