If you are not a member of the Doomworld forums, you're encouraged to register an account which will not only allow you to use the streamline submission process, but will also give us another soldier in our ever growing army of the undead.

If your religion prevents you from joining a forum, or you are under 13 or something, you can still email us news as always.

If you are already registered, create a thread in this forum with the title of what you'd like the news item to be called and the message as the news update, formatted in simple BBcode (bold, italic, url links, etc).

Once this is done, an admin will be along to check the news story, edit as necessary, and then post it directly onto the front page where it will act like any other news story.

Style Issues:

  • News Headlines Are Pretty Much All Capitalized
  • No f$*#ing swearing please
  • DON'T CAPITALIZE EVERYTHING!
  • Use proper punctuation!!!!!!!111
  • Try to spel stuf rite okey?
  • Make sure your update has a link to whatever website you're talking about and make sure the link is formatted right (VBCode reference)

READ THIS CAREFULLY: Once your post has been moved to the actual news forum, DO NOT EDIT IT. This causes an inconsistency with the front page contents. A newsie or site administrator (like Linguica, me, Dittohead, whatever) has to edit the news post in the front page database, which also updates the forum post.

I repeat: ONCE YOUR NEWS POST HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE NEWS FORUM, DO NOT EDIT IT. POST A CORRECTION IN THE THREAD, OR JUST ASK A NEWSIE/SITE ADMIN TO FIX IT FOR YOU.

Also, don't just copy and paste a news story or update from somewhere and claim it as your own work. Copy and pasting portions of others' news posts is OK, but put it inside quote tags, mention where it came from, and all that.
