You'll all be very interested to know that a man named Henry Lowood nominated Doom in a list of ten most important games ever created. What makes his opinion more relevant than, say, your average blogger? Well, none other than the fact that he heads a committee to preserve video game artifacts and the culture's history-- which is apparently under review for inclusion into the Library of Congress.
While, sadly, the reasons why Doom is so great are never explicitly stated in the article, no words need be spoken. You will all nod knowingly and return to fiddling around with that megawad that you and I both know won't get released this year.
