Awesome stuff, I just played that Command Control and I can say that the midi helped give the level an otherworldly atmosphere. Really well written midi. :)
Glad you liked it :) The flute kills it for me though, I liked the revised version in ED better.
Heh, I always like the level itself as well... IMHO definitely one of the better levels of the time (early 1994?).

Wow, what an awesome thread.
No really, Eternal Doom wouldn't of been the same without your compositions Rich, still one of the most memorable soundtracks to megawads of the mid-nineties.
Many thanks  :)

Ha! That's actually one of my favorite tracks, that and the first level's song has a great "welcome to the world of Eternal Doom" sound to it.
Heh, just had another weird flashback:
"Suspense Reprise" (Map10): Hehe, that one was an experimentation of the afore-mentioned "Suspense"... albeit *REVERSED*. I took the original "Suspense", ran Cakewalk Pro's "Retrograde" operation (reverse all events) on it, but the outcome was fairly horrid <LOL>!
I did like the overall effect though, so's I ended up re-sequencing the entire song, based upon the reversed melody and other tracks in the MIDI <grin> :)

Hehe, speaking of which... the sound effect in the WAD "Welcome to Eternal DOOM! HA HA HA!". Yep, me, with a lot of GoldWave-ing and Cool Edit-ing <LOL>!

By any chance, do you happen to have more MP3 recordings of ED's music?
Actually, throughout all of the years, I have all of the ED MIDIs recorded to MP3 files, all recorded from my MIDI hardware. Unfortunately my miserable-arsed dialup out here in the woods (as well as the same, that I had when I lived down in Miami), inhibits me from uploading them.
What you/one could do though:
Extract all of the DOOM MUSs and convert to MIDI files (MIDI2MUS).
Download my "¥Weeds¥ General MIDI SoundFont v3.0" -> http://home.earthlink.net/~richnagel/#soundfonts / http://www.doomworld.com/vb/doom-ge...-soundfont-v3-0 .
Download the freeware media player "XMPlay" and it's soundfont compatable "MIDI Plugin" -> http://www.un4seen.com/xmplay.html / http://www.un4seen.com/download.php?xmp-midi .
Play back the MIDIs with a lot of reverb, and you'll hear a fairly close representation of what *I* hear on my PCs :)
(plugging XMPLay here) That MIDI Plugin for XMPlay is the absolute best soundfont compatable softsynth that I've ever heard. Now mind you, nothing beats REAL hardware, but it comes the closest to an SBLive/AWE32/AWE64 that I've ever heard :)

These are really impressive to hear. Eternal Doom remains one of, if not, my favorite megawad project of all time, and as a fellow musician, it's nice to hear "doomin'" as a live track.
Many thanks :)

I got a question, if Eternal Doom Return from Oblivion eventually ends up completed, or at least with more levels added over time (kinda like what the original eternal doom did), would you write and score the new tunes for the project? The music on the original megawad is simply amazing and it'd be neat to hear some new tunes should the 7 level demo of oblivion be revisited!
Most definitely :) One thing though, things seem pretty quiet over in the TeamTNT project forums (so's I wouldn't hold my breath), but I surely be interested in new music... if project ever gets a start again :)
