t.v. Posted December 11, 2014 Hello fellow doomers, To commemorate Doom's 21st birthday and Doom2's 20th, I made a short animation based on the awesome Doom2 cover art. Please check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLiO5xCRuF0&list=UUXkZlNUgRuOuSgY_1DyOBKw I hope you like it, t.v. aka Rabotik 0 Share this post Link to post
Lizardcommando Posted December 11, 2014 That was pretty neat. I kinda wish there was some Doom 2 music playing in the background. 0 Share this post Link to post
Du Mhan Yhu Posted December 11, 2014 That was awesome. I've always wondered how the situations Doomguy is in on the cover arts could play out. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted December 12, 2014 Neat, that worked much better than I expected (except for the kinda awkward leg movement of our hero at the end). :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Jaxxoon R Posted December 12, 2014 Certainly better than a lot of Newgrounds animations, and those'r using original assets. Can't imagine how hard it would be to work with a painting of all things to the point of being presentable like you did. 0 Share this post Link to post
t.v. Posted December 15, 2014 Thanks everyone, It was hard to make, but it ended up well. I gained new appreciation for the quality of the original artwork. It captures a lot of detail, atmosphere and dynamics in a single image. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Unregistered account Posted December 21, 2014 I especially like how you re-did all the areas obscured (inside of legs, for example). 0 Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted December 21, 2014 Wow, the animation style is strange in a way but I found it really appealing. Very well done. Have you done one for Doom1's cover? (That would be quite an undertaking..) 0 Share this post Link to post
t.v. Posted December 29, 2014 I especially like how you re-did all the areas obscured (inside of legs, for example). Thanks. I had to make everything fit in with the original style so it would not look out of place. I wanted the Cyberdemon to walk, but could not get the movement of the legs to look right. So now you only see him take one small step to get into frame and you don't see his legs at all when he charges towards the marine :-) Have you done one for Doom1's cover? (That would be quite an undertaking..) No, I have not. That would indeed be very hard to do, so I don't think I ever will. Maybe when Doom turn 50 :-) 0 Share this post Link to post
Doominator2 Posted December 29, 2014 The Doomguy was lucky to have landed right beside a rocket launcher when he got hit by the Cyberdemons blast. 0 Share this post Link to post
SyntherAugustus Posted February 21, 2015 The cyberdemon guy just wanted to party too... 0 Share this post Link to post
