okay instead of starting a whole new thread im just re-using my sector help thread. (this means the next 2 posts are from the old thread and to be ignored).

i make a door and it works correctly. however in the sector volume that the door occupies there is a trench that i can pass over but monsters cant.

well actually, one of them i can go over but one of them i cant.

problem sectors are 20 and 21

1: The quickest way in DB, would be to make use of it's somewhat smart auto joining. Try drawing new sector already using the lines of the previous one. Not draw two separate sectors, and then join them, by moving selections.
2: Make sure you change sector references on the proper SideDef of the LineDef (if you don't know it yet - they are not the same. Each LineDef can have either one or two SideDefs)
3: DB does not merge your Linedefs automatically whem you touch one sector with another. Most of the time you would have to "reapply" one of the sector's LineDef over another in Line editing mode, so DB can be sure that's what you intend to do.

Don't do stuff like this - it makes the whole thing weird and retarded. Only edit posts to correct them or to add stuff soon after you have made the post. "Reusing" them to ask something totally different just creates a mess.

If you have a completely new question to which you can't find an answer, start a new thread about it. If you have a follow-up question to something you have posted about, make a new post in the existing thread.
