Y'know. A good review should combine what Johnny Rancid said (I like a lot of what he said btw,) and what Julian Hope said. (If something is bad, you do no one any favors by sugar coating)

There is an art in being able to do this. It should be possible to criticize a wad without destryoing the confidence of some newbie mapper who now never wants to map again. In short, you have the right to call something shit if you want. What you don't have is the right to insult someone's creativity.

To be brutally honest, you shouldn't review wads if you can't manage to keep apart the concepts of "critical" and "downright insulting."

I think perhaps that is what Johnny Rancid was talking about.

Be critical and honest. We want to know what we are getting if we are going to download a map. But don't be offensive. Don't be insulting.

On that not though, the reviews here are generally very good, with a minimum of trollage, and I don't often disagree with what is said, but there are times I disagree with the way it is said.
