ZDaemon Thursday Night Survival #63 - Hadephobia [beta2.1] (Part I)

At almost exactly two years in the making, over at the Doomworld forums we have ourselves a nice beta to play with before the first release candidate, and my gosh: it looks good! The idea is that one map is produced which has an ending that can be continued as a starting point by another mapper for the next map. You should know by now that we love a good beta test.

  • WADs: had-beta2_1, tskins1e, miekskins-r3
  • Maps: 01-16
  • Lives: 1 (possibly 2 during PAIN rotations)
  • Players: 20/50
  • When: 20:00 BST (15:00 EDT) (Euro session) / 20:00 EDT (01:00 BST) (US session)
In other news: Doom 3: BFG Edition buyers will be happy to know that ZDaemon supports the classic Doom IWAD copies shipped in that bundle. The Duelers League is flying nicely whilst providing a nice trial for the new server-side demo recording, ensuring you won't miss out on all the action. The size is 300 mb but you can actually check every player POV or spectate while we try to go through levels and more important you can check "in live broadcast" the bugs and other issues we encountered.

PD: oh, and by popular demand we played the ENTIRE wad, not only part I.

Anima if you are reading this, part 005 has map33-35 of our gameplay, change extension from 005 to .zip, will give an error but it will extrack those maps 8).

Using this thread to thank everyone who joined in Hadephobia TNS last night. I was disappointed to miss out from the start but pleasantly suprised that you continued right to the end when I joined midway through MAP16.

It was apparent that many levels were not conducive to 20 players at once but I hope everyone had some fun, as I did. To be fair on the authors co-op was never at the forefront of priorities in the Community Project's design rules - but no excuses for the maps that break co-op. Your comments and Alteus' demos will be noted and implemented where possible in Beta 3.

This TNS lark is a lot of fun. I'd recommend it to any Doomworlder and I'll hopefully be back for another session soon :-)

You should! See how Memfis' suicides and Anima's imfamous continuious deaths! (though he has been surviving well recently :P)

Maybe next week, I have been to a beer festival today so I will be far from sober when this starts (and I usually suck when I'm sober and I don't have the "awesome" style of drunkenness either :P)

I don't think it's a reason to not attend, quite on the contrary, you'll fit in just well with the other players that participate in ZDaemon's TNS Drinking Game! :)
