General Rainbow Bacon Posted November 23, 2012 I was just playing a bit today and noticed that lost souls don't "wake up". Anyone else notice this? I think that might be why I find them so dangerous and annoying since you never know when one might sneak up on you. 0 Share this post Link to post
Tristan Posted November 23, 2012 Adds to the eeriness of them in my opinion. Say you met one in real life. I'd be less creeped out if it growled at me than rather than just stared at me blankly. Before charging at me and killing me of course. 0 Share this post Link to post
Daiyu_Xiaoxiang Posted November 23, 2012 It already described here: http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Lost_Soul And lol, nearly all of us noticed this. 0 Share this post Link to post
Xaser Posted November 23, 2012 I find this a rather nice property of the Soulness. They're the one monster you can sneak into an area and have the player never know they just woke someone up. ;) 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted November 23, 2012 Y'know I think someone should make a mod that deletes all the wake up sounds, that would make the game that much scarier. 0 Share this post Link to post

Obsidian Posted November 23, 2012 It makes them quite useful for teleport traps. 0 Share this post Link to post

Bucket Posted November 23, 2012 They have a corpse, though. I never understood that. 0 Share this post Link to post

Koko Ricky Posted November 24, 2012 I've always wanted to see a version of the lost soul that breathed fire on you, like somehow redirecting its "exhaust" to flame you in the face. 0 Share this post Link to post

Avoozl Posted November 24, 2012 I don't think the fire has anything to do with its movement. :P 0 Share this post Link to post

This was the only way I could play it back in the early days of Doom. My old 486 didn't have a soundcard, and after the novelty beeps and boops of the PC speaker started making my ears bleed profusely in protest, three years of silenced Doom began. Then I got a new PC and said 'fuck all that', and have played with sound ever since. 0 Share this post Link to post
