Reisal Posted February 12, 2013 I have noticed all of the 3ddownloads links give you a redirect link to AtomicGamer but do not redirect you to the tool's download page but to the AtomicGamer homepage. This should be fixed so there are direct links to the tools on the page. CRAZY_ENZO Posted February 12, 2013 It's weird because some of the other links *do* go directly to atomicgamer, such as the music links. I hate atomicgamer though since I have to wait several minutes to download a few hundred KB or something like that. Reminds me of fileplanet, ugh. I'm not sure about bothering to keep Kali on any lists. You still have to buy a license but from what I've heard they aren't actually selling anymore, and you might have to contact Jay personally to get one (though that might get you one for free), and the only active server nowadays is the Descent server, which is 50% old men grumbling at each other and 50% Vrooden spouting conservative whackjob conspiracy theories and 1% a couple of guys I know (and sometimes myself) trolling him. I would have thought it died ten years ago and the domain name had been at best being bought by some Thuggee cult, at worst parked by a domain squatter. CRAZY_ENZO Posted February 12, 2013 I'd call it limbo since about the only thing it's still useful for is what I've described... oh, and the whole IPX tunneling stuff, I think, but you'll almost never see any game there at all. I think the guys who still stick with the Descent channel are the only reason it's still actually there. It's not even needed since recent source ports just use UDP/IP and a tracker. I say "was" because it is a daunting task to keep track of all the news and updating the forever changing direct download links and version numbers and due to my involvement in other projects, these resource links didn't get the attention they deserve. I suggest getting rid of version numbers and direct download links. Link to the website of the 'product' where it can be downloaded instead. That way the list doesn't need to be updated for every new version of anything. This of course doesn't remove broken links automatically, so a list of those would still be useful ;) 0 Share this post Link to post

printz Posted February 13, 2013 3ddownloads or atomicgamer links must die. Now we have better means to obtain what we need, such as /idgames or the homepages of the various authors. A lot of junk, such as Doom links nobody ever visits any more, needs to be culled. 0 Share this post Link to post

No ZenNode, ZDBSP, or DeePBSP in the node builders.
