Doomsday - multiplayer

Has anybody managed to connect using Doomsday (kicks.exe)

I can only connect with other PCs on my network - TCP/IP, has no luck seeing anyone else even I specify the IP address.

Not over the internet, no; only played a couple of games over LAN.

As for your issue, it's probably something to do with the horrors of port forwarding.

Can't believe that after 25 years - Doom is still impossible to connect.

Why is it so damn hard!

The server's router is probably blocking the port(s) used.

what does that mean. what do I need to do?

OK 18 years... I guess you're right, 18 years isn't really long enough to solve the problem.

...shouldn't this be in http://www.doomworld.com/vb/source-ports/?
