Speed of lowering floors, moving lifts, etc in units per second?

Recommended Posts

I want to make a timed arena map using vanilla actions only. To time everything right it would be very useful for me to know the speed of lowering floors and maybe some other moving stuff in units per second. Has anyone tried to calculate this stuff?

If I'm not wrong…

Standard doors: 2/tic = 70/second
Turbo doors: 8/tic = 280/second
Standard lifts: 4/tic = 140/second (near 128)
Turbo lifts: 8/tic = 280/second
Standard floors: 1/tic = 35/second
Raising bridges: 0.5/tic = 17.5/second (I believe)
Slow stairs: 0.25/tic = 8.75/second (roughly the step height)
And so on.

In any case, Doom has these speeds 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, which need to be multiplied by 35 to obtain the units/s.

Regarding bridges, the 3D ones in vanilla work by using lifts I do believe (you can hear the lift sound in a lot of vanilla wads that use them), I'm not sure if he means that perhaps?
