doomgay Posted December 1, 2013 Today I play Doom to 2 hours. MY HEADACH. and Peradventure, You playing feels dizzy? Somebody view my broascast video, feels dizzy. I DON'T. so give me answer? Memfis Posted December 1, 2013 I guess my longest playing time was when cchest4 came out and I beat 19 maps from it in one day. Took maybe 12 hours with small breaks for food, toilet, etc. But I'm used to sitting in front of the computer for extremely long periods of time from watching anime (I remember watching >30 episodes of One Piece in some days, which takes more than 12 hours) so it wasn't that difficult for me. Although at the end of that day I had a small headache after all, maybe because playing doom requires a bit more brain activity since you have to stay concentrated and stuff like that most of the time. 0 Share this post Link to post
EvilNed Posted December 1, 2013 Whenever I play Doom I play for maybe an hour at a time. After that, my head becomes to jumbled and I have to do something else for awhile. Sometimes it helps just to switch Wads. 0 Share this post Link to post
drifter20k Posted December 1, 2013 It usually varies. Doom is a fast paced game and 30 minutes spent on one large level is a long time, 30 minutes spread out over 10 levels or more does not seem like a long time. I try to log a minimum of 1 hour straight Doom time when I play. I prefer two or three hours at a time but sometimes I can only fit in 30 minutes. Two weeks ago, I played through the first Community Chest and I am stuck on level 29. Total play time logged at the end of level 28 is 13 hours and that is spread out over Saturday and Sunday-that was a real brain drain! The following days at work after that weekend, I could hear baron death sounds and imp wake up sounds while I wasn't playing. Then there are the different methods that I play doom. I have Doom and Doom II on several computers in the house ranging from 486, pentium overdrive, pentium I, II, III, IV and Celeron. I play ZDoom and Vanilla, keyboard only and keyboard with mouse on ZDoom. I find it more fun and intense with a good mouse on the real hard maps on ZDoom. For Vanilla, I use ISA sound cards with OPL. And when I am not playing Doom, I am usually thinking of it. I have been playing on and off since 1994. 0 Share this post Link to post
joe-ilya Posted December 1, 2013 My longest time was when I was 9 and played 6 hours straight. 0 Share this post Link to post
40oz Posted December 1, 2013 I could totally go for about 18 hours at a time if I actually had the time. These days it's usually just a quick 30 minutes or so to blow off some steam, but give me some megawads with consistent quality and difficulty and I could remain entertained until my fingers start to cramp up. 0 Share this post Link to post
dg93 Posted December 2, 2013 Ahhh... I think I've played for at least 3 hours straight once. I felt like shit after, but it was worth it lol 0 Share this post Link to post
Waffenak Posted December 2, 2013 Earlier I had time to play 8-12 hours if I wanted. I don't feel eyestrain while playing, only sleepy if I play in the middle of the night. Only once I had weird sensation while playing a game, it happened when I had played Fallout 1 for many hours nonstop, it felt like I was sucked into the game thru screen, the gameview completely filled my field of vision. 0 Share this post Link to post
Avoozl Posted December 2, 2013 Depends really, when I find a good enough megawad such as Vile Flesh recently I try to play for 2 to 3 hours until I end up rage quitting or not feel like playing anymore. 0 Share this post Link to post
Stupid Bunny Posted December 2, 2013 There was a time in my life when I could play a single game, Doom included, for 8 hours or more of a day without end, for multiple days at a time. I could probably still do that if it wasn't for all the other obligations I had on my mind. 0 Share this post Link to post

Fallout 1 was fantastic!! Beat it twice, first time was 2003 on Pentium 200mmx. I could not stop playing, easily 4 hours a day. 0 Share this post Link to post

This pesky thing called real life keeps getting in the way. 0 Share this post Link to post

Well I'm currently addicted to Diablo 2, wishing I got it back in 2001 when I had a PC since 2000 but sadly my parents didn't think about buying me many games for it except for two certain times, they got me Lego Creator and Lego Loco, the PC did come with a game of it's own however which was the old tank game titled Recoil, I loved that game and I still have fond memories of playing it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Zed Posted December 2, 2013 Honestly I don't have the time to play more than 30-40 minutes at the time. At most I keep an open tab in the background to give a quick look to the forums every now and then, and a second computer next to me so I can play a little when I take a break. It generally takes me 2-4 weeks to finish a megawad (Plutonia 2 took me almost 2 months). drifter20k said:Two weeks ago, I played through the first Community Chest and I am stuck on level 29. Unless you watch a demo or open it in an editor, chances are you're gonna be stuck there for a long time. 0 Share this post Link to post
Clonehunter Posted December 2, 2013 I'll generally play for an hour or less a day or maybe an hour a week. Once I burned through Doom 2 using the Real Guns mod in one sitting, however. 0 Share this post Link to post

I should revisit diablo 2, I have played thru all diablos as a barbarian, I would like to test necromancer because all characters in videogames who can resurrect dead are awesome hence archvile is my favourite villain in doom 0 Share this post Link to post
BaronOfStuff Posted December 2, 2013 Obviously with food/drink/toilet breaks aside, I play for as long as I want to if I am playing SP, or as long as the server holds everyone's interest in MP. Don't really get headaches or motion sickness or any of that shite when it comes to playing videogames. To be honest I don't really understand how anyone can. 0 Share this post Link to post

Dime Posted December 2, 2013 Depends, casually it's easy to log quite a few hours but speedrunning tends to get way too stressful. Atleast in DM I lose enough matches that I can get some random breaks. Anymore than 1.5-2 hrs starts to become too much if speedrunning full wads. Random IL's again give me enough breaks that it isn't as big of a deal. 0 Share this post Link to post
HK!D Posted December 3, 2013 Like everyone else, it depends really. Id say probably less than 15 hours a week? 0 Share this post Link to post
