In the event he's checking out SVN and not unzipping, he needs to make sure that Eternity is using the copy of /base that he checked out from SVN, and not one from the previous release. The items.edf module now defines for example how much health a medikit gives, via an "item effect". This is part of the new in-progress inventory system.
