probably dumb question (prboom)

so im sure this has been discussed before, but i cant find anything on the forums.

whenever i launch prboom and start the game, there is a kind of lag or something that occurs before i can see the game. its like the game starts, but i dont actually see anything for like a full second, but during that blindness period the game functions normally. oftentimes im already being attacked before i can even see whats going on depending on what im playing. so, is there a fix for this? (this happens during demo recordings as well, even when i watch someone elses demo).

Which version are you using? Please give the exact version number, and maybe the date-stamp of the exe file.

version of prboom-plus: 2.5.0.8

(by datestamp im assuming you mean the data i installed prboom-plus)

I don't know if this will solve your problem or not, but your version is out of date. You should update to version 2.5.1.3.

well, it still happens during recordings. it fixed for normal play. but not demo recordings. ugh...how can you accurately record when you cant see whats going on initially?

Do you have the wipe screen effect turned off?

yeah i have that disabled.

No problem, the same thing happened to me when I disabled them in zdoom.
