Texture problems

I've been extracting textures from Deathwarrior's beta resource files and making some new textures in the vein of doom. but I've been having a problem. In the game, the textures look kind of overlapped.

They look fine in XWE and in DEU but look like ass in there... any idea why? The dimensions of the source images to make up the tiles are 40x72 and I made it 80x128...

thoughts?

All the original doom textures have a width of 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, etc. I think it was a limitation of the original Doom. An 80x128 texture should look okay in the latest version of ZDoom though, I just checked it. But to be sure, make your texture 128x128, that should look good in any port.
