90% of Maximum Doom. I'm not even joking. They are so bad that they make me want to cry... though it may be in part because there are so damn many of them.

Doom2 Xtreme Gold. I think so because the "mod" is just a bunch of levels collected around the net with some shitty new graphics, although that status bar isn't so bad...

And you're claiming the authors were "serious"? The level is supposed to be a joke, its supposed be funny and crazy. If you want a "serious" wad play Kansam's Trial. It's not a classic but it proves they were perfectly capable of making normal Doom levels.

The thing about that is that alot of the levels come from commercial packages (mostly final doom). Others are from Memento Mori I think, and possibly others. It's sad because in the text file he takes full credit for it and says that if anyone steals his hard work he'll be very angry or something. Kind of funny, except for the gross copyright violations and ethical problems.

The seriousness I was referring to was in that they actually seemed to seriously consider the map a viable route to some amount of enjoyment. Just look at the effort they put in.

Lets see, I bet 95% of thoes maps were people first try's at mapping!

I just took a look at The Sky May Be because I was bored and oh... my goodness... it was the biggest load of crap I ever did see. I mean c'mon the level is basically IMPOSSIBLE! It's MUCH easier if you get rid of that extra crappy DEHACKED patch. I have never seen, heard, or even tasted anything worse. The second I opened that map my stomach took an extreme lurch as I felt like I was going to barf. Note to the creator NEVER I MEAN NEVER. make textures of one solid color! That's just pathetic... and as for the instant kill barons... cheaters beware not even iddqd can save you from this one... The only bit of entertainment I got from the whole thing is when I typed in IDCLIP. That message is the only thing that kept me from Certain Death...

Mwahaha, good to see another victim to the horror that is... The Sky May Be. If I was king, everybody would have to play this for at least 4 hours a day.

i'll have to check that out today.

I had some spare time so I decided to make an acceptible version of the sky may be. I removed "almost" everything. And I didn't include the DEHACKED patch. Now it truly is a good level. It may look a little wierd because of the textures he replaced coming back, but it looks MUCH better than the old version.

Worst WADs in my opinion? Well, Computer Lab (by me) certainly must be pretty high up on the sucky list.

Phew, I half expected some of my creations to show up in here.

That's only because no one here uses Legacy. :p

THe author of Succubi.wad needs to die. Painfully. I may not have been emotionally scarred, but I think it was probably worse than, uh, Maximum Doom. :) Gods, it was bad. :Twitches:

MAximum doom was fun to a degree. I have over 1 gig of Doom wads! Believe it or not.
And about every Megawad as well.

Well... flame me if you must, but I actually like Sky May Be. It's just another one of those wads that's so stupid that it's funny. The huge single-shaded room was quite annoying, but the rest of the level is actually quite good.

The worst wad in my opinion? 1337.wad is quite bad. However,the worst is playground.wad (found in ftp//3darchives.in-span.net). It's terrible!

OMG! You can't be serious! How could you fall into the type of category that the Author was in. NOTHING can be so stupid that it's funny. I think more logically toward that. Anf if you were using the Blessed.deh in the map I think your completly out of your mind!

Heh. I was expecting this.

It is a bit odd that you thought The Sky May Be was so bad it was funny, but you found 1337.wad just to be bad. 1337.wad was intended 100% as a joke, whereas it's not so clear exactly what the intention of the makers of TSMB was.

Actually, some of the maps in 1337.wad had some worthwhile gameplay, and the textfile is, IMO, genuinely amusing.

succubi.wad wasn't bad at all, i don't what you're talking about it. it's the finest map i've ever seen in the x-rated section of 3darchives, and funny as hell to boot.

I am VERY pissed I thought 1337.wad was serious. Damn I'm pissed! :P I actually wrote comments on each of the levels, and I was gonna send it out to the authors before I gave up on it. The floating city idea was actually pretty nifty, and I liked the second level, too.

If you just post your comments in these forums, I'm sure, er, Ernie will see them.

Regarding good wads in the x-rated section, my vote would go to itd-r20u. It's not really a porno wad at all though; just a very good episode where they decided to put a bit of pr0n in one room.

That's the main problem I had with 1337. With the text file and everything, I thought it was a serious wad. However, when I saw all those megaspheres and bfgs in map01, I know that I was mistaken. It was kinda fun at some parts, but I still haven't found the exit to map27!!! I still wonder why the authors said that they dodn't have a map30, when in reality it did.
