DOS: use the command line parameter "-playdemo [name of file]"

Doom95: Well, its in the advanced options. When in that menu click the "demo" tab and then check the "play demo" box, then select which one you want bub.

That's all there is to it.

You have to get to DOS prompt to play a demo back with regular doom2.exe Then type doom2 -playdemo aaa if you want to view a demo called aaa.lmp.

Run C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM

Then, as others have said, if you download the demo doomdonedrunk.lmp (and it is in your DOOM directory), then type this (what is in italics):

C:\Doom>doom -playdemo doomdonedrunk.lmp_

Christ, and I thought I was a loser!

It should be in the start menu under "programs" if you're on Win9x.

If you're on Mac, then I have no clue bucko!

Oh, and if you are on Win9x, make sure you type "cd\[your doom directory] so that it goes into the right directory.

C:\Doom2>doom2 -playdemo acg-lep

C:\doom2\doom2 -playdemo acg-lep

C: [enter]
CD\DOOM2 [enter]
DOOM2 -playdemo acg-lep [enter]

enjoy. The demo might have been recorded with a sourceport, in wich case you need to use that sourceport.

For demos recorded with zdoom...
If you have the option "open with" when you right click on a file, just right click on lmp file, "open with" select zdoom.exe, you then have option to "always use this to open this file type" check box, then all you ever have to do is double click an lmp file and it runs automatic

That would not work, BECAUSE YOU FORGOT TO PRESS ENTER AFTER THE LAST LINE!!. I can just imagine you sitting there with a perfectly typed command, waiting for something to happen for several hours. =P
Apart from causing you to wait endlessly, your varation does nothing that mine won't do.

owned :)
