Job Posted August 7, 2003 How can you get the Doom E1 sky in Doom2? I know it was done in Southern Cross and if anyone could tell me how, I'd be very thankful. 0 Share this post Link to post
boris Posted August 7, 2003 1. get it out of doom.wad (patch name "sky1") 2. put it in your custom .wad (texture name "sky1", "sky2" or "sky3") 0 Share this post Link to post
ReX Posted August 7, 2003 Followimg up on what Boris said, you can use a utility such as WinTex, XWE, or DeepSea to open up doom.wad and extract the E1 sky patch (bitmap format). Then use the utility to open up your doom2 wad and insert the patch as Boris describes. 0 Share this post Link to post

Fletcher` Posted August 12, 2003 I use nwtpro 1.14b. Wintex is too buggy for me. 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted August 12, 2003 ravage: use XWE or - dare I mention it - DeePSea then :) 0 Share this post Link to post
sargebaldy Posted August 13, 2003 yeah, NWT is pretty ugh heh. if you think wintex is too buggy i'd recommend XWE. i'm honestly highly impressed by anyone who can possibly understand deepsea's lump editor =P 0 Share this post Link to post

Both XWE and DeePsea are a damn sight easier than Wintex. Turn your self upside down, punt and then hope it works - that's Wintex. Choose the job you want to do, do it and you are done. That's XWE or DeePsea. And they actually work. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Unregistered account Posted May 16, 2014 WOW, this post is old! I just made an Episode 1 sky wad for all the brown sky haters and green mountain lovers, so anyone can copy this wad, save their maps over the copy and have an awesome green mountain sky. I just searched "E1 Sky Doom wad" to check if anyone else had done the same, and... well... yeah. Here it is. https://www.mediafire.com/?8mu9c8g3uabp9ia 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted May 17, 2014 Or use sargebaldy's resource wad, which is even older than this thread. 0 Share this post Link to post
