Scuba Steve Posted June 11, 2006 All People who hate homosexuals are themselves homosexual, but affraid to admit this to themselves because of their deep seeded fear of being gay. They secretly cry themselves to sleep and pray to an imaginary god to please take these "urges" from them. Their social lives are plagued with fear of all members of the same sex because of their underlying attraction to them, and how they make them feel, and as a result are withdrawn, lonely and sad. Anyone have any sources that confirm this? 0 Share this post Link to post

myk Posted June 11, 2006 niguel said: honestly, you really think people who have strong statement and stand behind their words have somehow poor self confidence? Hatred isn't a strong stance. Homophobes and mysoginists who "stand behind their words" stand behind their fear and resentment; it's a mechanism where harm or humiliation must be applied onto gays or women to "prove" manhood, just like fascists must prove they are strong by ganging up against a demonized social stereotype. Hartred is to the individual what bigotry is to society. 0 Share this post Link to post

VileSlay Posted June 13, 2006 some asshole on that board said:Parents who choose financial wealth over raising their children ARE selfish. That would not mean DINKS, but two parent families where the mother is working oustide the home. A woman's place is in the home, raising the children. Likewise, a father needs to provide for them. Everyone must know their role. sounds like my grandfather, and hitler for that matter. 0 Share this post Link to post
XDelusion Posted June 13, 2006 Scuba, you crack me up! I think you are on to something. "Tin god, Tin god, please take the homos away! Please tell me I'm not gay!". If only more so called followers of the Wisdom of Jesus (or is it the Gnostics or Essenes?) would spend more time looking within, than wasting so much time filling themselve with anger and fear over other people's business. It must be exausting. 0 Share this post Link to post

Anyone have any sources that confirm this? Freud. "Reaction formation takes place when a person takes the opposite approach consciously compared to what that person wants unconsciously. For example, someone may engage in violence against another race because, that person claims, the members of the race are inferior, when unconsciously it is that very person who feels inferior." This defense mechanism is also present in some cases of homosexuality. Hope this is what you were looking for Scuba. 0 Share this post Link to post
XDelusion Posted June 13, 2006 Of course Frued loved his mommy a bit too much and feard the hell out of Jung which I find very laughable. 0 Share this post Link to post

dmdr Posted June 14, 2006 According to Freud, everyone wants to root their mum, no matter what. And women all secretly want to have penises. If he says something, it must be true. 0 Share this post Link to post
Csonicgo Posted June 14, 2006 you've never heard of japanese culture have you? 0 Share this post Link to post
dmdr Posted June 14, 2006 I assume you're addressing that question to me. I presume you're talking about hentai. I would argue that since the main market for porn is men, then the relevant scenes imply that all men want women to have penises. Besides, Freud doesn't address issues of sailor suit fetishes or movies with lots of yelling in them so I don't think Japan really confirms his theories. 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted June 14, 2006 Lance MDR Rocket said: If he says something, it must be true. What? Freud's theories are far from being dogmatic positivism. On the contrary, they are illustrative of psychological elements previously hardly touched except incidentally in heterogenic sources (speard out through literary, religious and philosophical works), particularly since before the late 19th or the 20th centuries the pyche was considered almost mainly from a conscientious perspective, far from the complexity gained by modern thought. As usual, someone mentions Freud some bloke has to come nagging with some reactionary snide comment. Ironically in this case it seems the particular Freudian quote had hit the nail of this reactionary element itself on the head, at least in respect to psychological understanding. Only a clueless person tries to read Freud (or any decent modern theorist, for that matter) as some sort of bible to be repeated without context or otherwise dismissed with some shallow and predictable gibe. 0 Share this post Link to post

Lord FlatHead Posted June 14, 2006 Yeah. Freud is one of those people who get frequently quoted like his word is the word of God. "You know, Freud said..."; "You know, Chomsky said..." Yeah, so? 0 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted June 14, 2006 Freud said that, children that accused grown ups to have molested or raped them, were lying. As for the topic at hand, I find this slightly humorous, but I must say that whenever I read stuff like what is posted in that thread, I get the shivers. 0 Share this post Link to post
