Kristian Ronge Posted September 21, 2007 YES YES YES! :-DDD Congratulations! EDIT: Very very cool and classy of you to give credits in the .txt; I'm honoured to see some of my route and trick ideas (especially maps 27 and 28) used to such good results! :-D The map 24 trick was awesome, BTW, better than my RJ idea. EDIT # 2: Map 29 can most likely be done in 0:17, there's a switch closer to the exit. See this TAS run for a demonstration. EDIT # 3: Fixed link. 0 Share this post Link to post
entryway Posted September 21, 2007 I have counted nine archie-jumps and two double-archie-jumps. Four of them on map23. 0 Share this post Link to post

abyrvalg Posted September 22, 2007 This is some really nice stuff! I've seen an unfinished version, now watched this one, and will probably watch few more times today. So many various tricks and tweaks, abusing of archvile power etc etc :) You could cut 4 seconds in map04 with more brutal punching in the end (checked it myself now), 1sec in map29 and probably go under 1min in map13 by getting past the linedef. But these little things dont spoil the pleasure at all. Certainly one of the most amazing TAS movies here around. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gusta Posted September 22, 2007 I am really looking forward to watch this ... pleasant surprise I must say ;-) 0 Share this post Link to post
xit-vono Posted September 22, 2007 Yeah it was very entertaining. I particularly liked the way the player made use of innovative tricks such as arch-vile jumps. I think there are places where it can be improved, but that was true about Sedlo's 30uv1617, which was a great demo at the time and still very entertaining. 0 Share this post Link to post
Never_Again Posted September 22, 2007 Fscking A! (or просто заебись, if you like. =) Nikolay, thank you for sharing one of the most amazing demos I have seen. Great homage to one of the best megawads ever, and in what style! The Showdown (map23) part alone features a rocket jump and three Arch-Vile jumps, topped off with another rocket jump ending in a zombie exit! You don't see this last one every day. Like an art film, this must be watched several times just to grasp completely what is going on. Terrific replay value there, well done! 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted September 22, 2007 Very entertaining; I don't mind that it isn't as extremely optimized as some recent TASes. Only complaint is that you keep hitting door frames, which is slightly distracting and can be avoided effortlessly in a TAS. 0 Share this post Link to post
The Green Herring Posted September 22, 2007 All I have to say is: Impressive. I was looking forward to this being completed, and my expectations were not only met, they were exceeded! This run is officially about four times faster than the Compet-N UV run (83:56). It's quite cool to see the notoriously long MAP28 completed in just over a minute. :) Like I said in the misc. demos thread, I like the MAP13 exit trick. The Arch-Vile jumps in this run were particularly cool, too, especially the two double Arch-Vile jumps, and the amount of Arch-Vile jumps in MAP23 did not go unnoticed. I agree with xit: You should TAS Memento Mori II. :) 0 Share this post Link to post

Marco Posted September 24, 2007 Truly remarkable!! I won't even ask how many times it took to finally get through that. You almost bought it on three or four occasions with your rocket splash but fantastic job! 0 Share this post Link to post
