jobro Posted September 16, 2009 I've got some key bindings for Zdoom that works pretty well: I'm not gonna get over the clear stuff such as movement etc because this is done the original Doom way. But here is my special keys I've added: Y = Third person ON U = Third person OFF PGUP = Look up PGDN = Look down Space = jump HOME = fly up END = fly down DEL = center camera INS = screenshot F toggle flight mode (used very rarely) C toggle crouch mode 0 Share this post Link to post

Talvi Posted November 27, 2009 Since Doom was my first FPS, I've always used the basic control, for it and all the upcoming FPS. But since the freelook, it isn't as easy to control it this way, and after years being stubborn, I decided to change to the WASD + Mouse control, but still using just the keyboard for Doom. Thing is since I have to use a laptop most of the time, it's really uncomfortable to use its keyboard for Doom, so I play it WASD + Mouse now. Left click for fire, Right for jumping, C for crouch and SPACE for use. 0 Share this post Link to post

bimlanders Posted December 1, 2009 Since 1993 I have never played with a mouse and have always played with the default config. I have played Doom so much that playing other FPS with different key configs and mouse look always throw me off until I get a lot of practice in. 0 Share this post Link to post
Airman266 Posted December 7, 2009 I never got the point of WASD, I use ESDF. 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted December 7, 2009 WASD makes sense in DOOM where the F is follow mode in the automap. Otherwise, you'll change map modes every time you try to move to the right, instead of moving. Some source ports, that let you edit the automap keys, let you get around that, but it explains why WASD has been more popular than ESDF where DOOM is concerned, all along. 0 Share this post Link to post
geo Posted December 8, 2009 Standard and I use left handed mouse, because all of the good keys are on the right side. 0 Share this post Link to post
22Alpha22 Posted December 8, 2009 I used to use the WASD keyboard setup, but now I use an Xbox 360 controller exclusively on my computer. Y = Jump X = Crouch A = Use B = Alt Fire RB = Fire LB = Run Right Thummbstick = Aim Right Thumbstick Click = Cycle Weapons Down Left Thumbstick = Move/Strafe Left Thumbstick Click = Cycle Weapons Up It works really great on ZDoom and GZDoom. 0 Share this post Link to post

Well maybe that's why i never got it, I don't routinely walk around with the automap on. 0 Share this post Link to post
deldelda Posted December 15, 2009 W and S move forward/back. D jumps, Q crouches. Space is use, caps lock/tab are automap. Mouse moves side to side to turn, left click to fire, hold right click for strafe, hold middle click for mouselook. Most other buttons are default. Always run. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest DILDOMASTER666 Posted December 15, 2009 WSAD for movement, and if I have a mouse I prefer using left to fire and right to jump, with middle being inventory and wheelscroll for inventory selection; space to use and shift to hold-crouch. If I do not have access to a mouse I use the keypad to emulate mouse movement and buttons. 0 Share this post Link to post
